Best Albums of the Decade: 33. Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea by PJ Harvey

33. Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea by PJ Harvey, 2000
I got this in my Christmas stocking when I was about to turn 14 because I had heard my best friend’s copy and fell in love with it instantly, leading him to tell my mom: “Listen, lady. Get your kid this cd so I can have mine back,” which she did. My mom fell in love with it, too, and why not? It’s noisy at times, has some of the best lyrics I’ve heard to date, and The Mess We’re In is a duet with Thom Yorke. PJ Harvey can do no wrong in my book.
